Hanna Oxaas, married Rivertz, Lyngseidet (1861- 1941)

The childhood home was a cultural center even before Hanna married the police officer Petter Rivertz. She was very interested in culture and music. Hanna was a pianist, she gave concerts and taught music. She had several children and was an “excellent housewife”, with nannies, maids, kitchen maids – and boys. In 1920, Hanna started a choir with rehearsals in her home at Karnes.

Hanna and her husband made sure Karnes got a school. The women’s association she was part of built a small nursing home. She collected money for an organ in Lyngen church, where she was organist for many years.
